If you are reading this, chances are, you have been on a diet or are thinking of going on one.
The word diet to me sounds as dirty as the other four letter word. It’s often associated with negative connotations but
I am not talking about fad diets or diets that promise fast weight loss. I believe in healthy eating to achieve your goals, be it weight loss, a lower cholesterol or managing your sugar cravings. I am no nutritionist but I know what a healthy diet is.
So what’s the secret on how to diet effectively?
It consists of unprocessed foods, minimal sugar, low in saturated and trans fat and lots of vegetables and other wholesome goodness that provide essential nutrients that your body needs.
But besides food, a healthy lifestyle plays a huge part too. You have to be committed to change and be prepared that it will take some time before you see results.
You have to plan how to diet effectively by first setting a goal for yourself.
Failing to plan is planning to fail!
I adapted the SMART way for goal setting which I learnt in school and applied it to leading a healthier lifestyle. The original was Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time mark and tweaked it a bit.
