It’s 2013 and after a nice break from running my 42km in the Standard Chartered Marathon, running season starts again!
I have already signed up for two runs in Singapore 2013 which I feel are really unique as the course roads are far from your usual city routes! They are the Green Corridor Run on 27th January and The Safari Zoo Run on 17th February.
Why I choose these two runs:
Firstly, the course road is really different. Nature lovers will appreciate the scenery and I saw that elevation levels of the course road will be varied and thus, more challenging than a usual 10km run.
I will be running (according to the website) the 10.5km course, starting at the historic Tanjong Pagar Rail Station that winds its way along the ‘Green Corridor’ and will be finishing at the old Bukit Timah Rail Station.
I love nature and trails so what better way than this to get the year of running started on the right foot. Really looking forward to doing this run with one of my good friends. What’s more, am so grateful to Run Society for the complimentary tickets.
Entry Fee
Period | Price |
---|---|
Early Bird (before 30/11/12) | $48 |
Normal (01/12/12 onwards) | $55 |

The second race:
Really cute run that is more intended for bonding with your family. There is the zoo challenge 12km, the fun run 6km and for the kids, 2.8km – for full prices and registration, click here.
Not to mention, you also get free entry to the Zoo afterwards. I am gonna see Jia Jia and Kai Kai, the two giant pandas from China after that but I think you would have to add on additional ticket prices to the enclosure to see them.
I am running the 6km because:
1. It’s my friend’s birthday and it’s all for fun
2. I really like the 6km medal more than the 12km one
3. it’s just a day for fellowship with my friends
So these are the two runs I have lined up to kick-start my 2013 running year. Hoping that 2013 will be injury free and that my timings will improve!
Have you signed up for any runs yet? Which ones are you looking at?
