Last week was extremely busy for me.. Firstly on the 16th, my company supported the one day without shoes campaign where all the staff went barefoot for a day to support global awareness to children’s health and education.
Then on thursday, we took part in the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge where over 400 companies registered to run a 5.6km run for charity. It was my first run after not running for more than 3 months so I treaded with caution and didn’t push myself. Anyway, you couldn’t run fast even if you wanted to, too many people were walking and you would have spent so much energy trying to overtake them.
Then on Saturday, Nike held the Run Free training run at Sentosa’s Siloso Beach. While walking to the venue, memories of Cottesloe Beach in Perth came rushing back. How I loved going to the beaches there….. Suntanning and chilling are some of my favorite things to do. I hardly do that anymore, Singapore has not many nice beaches and Sentosa is just too far…
Surprised to see so many people though. I was also thinking to myself that I should totally come back here on one weekend to laze around.
Doesn’t the sky look lovely?
Anyway, we started off with a quick workout session from the Nike Training Club (get the app!) led by Singapore’s fastest woman marathon runner , Anne Qihui. This woman is super fast and I was so glad to be able to meet her. Very friendly lady too! I was really motivated when I saw so many women coming together for the Run Free Training Run. In case you don’t know, this training session was held to prepare participants who had registered for the upcoming Nike She Runs happening on the 11 May 2013. Slots were snapped up like hot cakes and registration was closed in a matter of days.
I feel very blessed to be able to be part of the fierce and feminine crew for the run. Thank you Nike once again for opportunity and lovely workout gear… Don’t you love how workout gear can motivate one to do better?
Thrilled to meet Anne Qihui, she makes running look so effortless
Met the other crew members of the run, the bubbly Georgina who has a huge following on instagram and sweet Mavis, a writer for Cosmopolitan Singapore
Plus, the lovely PR girls Munirah and Samantha were ever ready to ensure that everything went smoothly, I don’t know how they do it, they are so full of energy each time I see them and it’s not easy handling a huge scale event (I know, I have been through organising Chingay before ) Really glad to get to know them. 🙂
Oh and that’s not all, yesterday was my metasprint triathlon! Will post on that shortly. Have a great week ahead people. I am totally going to cut me some slack this week.
